Hydrofix® Spine Shield

The HydroFix® Spine Shield has received its CE Mark Class III Certification in Europe as a post surgical adhesion inhibiting barrier for use during posterior and anterior vertebral surgeries as a cover for the spine, including contact with the Central Nervous System and Central Circulatory System, to provide a plane of dissection during revision surgery. This product is not available in the United States.

Product Overview

Tissue adhesions following major spinal, orthopedic and general surgeries can create one or more surgical complications. Adhesions from orthopaedic musculoskeletal surgery are associated with pain, limited range of motion in affected structures, and delayed healing. Internally, adhesions can involve other significant structures and create problems with vascular, neurological or major organ involvement. Particularly during revision surgery, adhesions from previous surgery can significantly interfere with surgical technique, operating time and subsequent complications as well. HydroFix® Spine Shield was designed as an adhesion barrier to prevent fibrous attachment of critical overlying structures to the surgical site in anterior spine surgical exposures.

The HydroFix® Spine Shield is easy to use and is intended to be used in specific locations as a cover of the spine to provide a plane of dissection during a revision surgery. See Instructions for Use for further detail.
